Visit the iconic landmarks of Bacolod City on this sightseeing tour that will take you to museums and historic sites in just half a day. This family-friendly city tour is perfect for those who want to discover the rich history and culture of the province.

Wait for the assigned driver to fetch you at your accommodation within Bacolod City. You have the option to take either the morning or afternoon tour. Once settled, you will immediately begin your adventure around the city, starting from the 19th-century church, the San Sebastian Cathedral.

San Sebastian Cathedral is currently the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bacolod. It was once a simple parish church made of wood but was eventually renovated into a bigger one made of coral stones and hardwood, creating a gothic-style exterior with a classy interior. Pray in silence or light a candle before you make your way to the next destination, which is just across the church — Bacolod Plaza.

Bacolod Plaza dates back to the Spanish Colonial Government. It is a public park first built in 1927 and is now used as a venue for spiritual, recreational, and cultural activities. Today, the plaza marks the final leg of the annual Masskara Festival’s street dancing competition. Another popularly visited attraction in the plaza is the bandstand. It is a small kiosk situated at the center of the site that serves as a performance stage for various activities since the Spanish time.

From the plaza, you will head to visit the lagoon fronting the province’s capitol park. This lagoon features exquisite statues of a man with a male water buffalo and a woman with a female water buffalo standing in the north and south ends of the lagoon. Before proceeding to the next sites, you will first enjoy your lunch at Manokan Country where you will feast on Bacolod’s famous version of chicken inasal. Afterward, you will then head to Pope John Paul II Tower, a seven-story edifice dedicated to the late Pope John Paul II.

For a small additional fee, you can opt to drop by the Gallery of Masks, where a large collection of hand-made masks and costumes are showcased. The gallery also offers a fun painting activity for visitors to experience painting their own masks. After enjoying the painting session, you will then go to La Guerta and Vintage Glass Museum, the home of a plethora of different antique glasses, before stopping by New Government Center for a quick photo-op.

Some seven kilometers from the center is The Ruins. Built in 1920, the Ruins is a mansion erected as a remembrance of Maria Braganza, a wealthy local’s wife. Your tour will then end in Bongbong’s or Merci, the two most known pasalubong ( souvenir) shops in Bacolod.

Experience the best of Bacolod City by joining this fun and hassle-free half-day tour. Check availability by choosing a date.
